If ‘music festival’ conjures up images of a mud-soaked field, questionable sanitation and disappearing organisers, then you will be relieved to learn that Junior Achievement’s latest fundraising entertainment offering - the J-Fest Music Festival 2014 – will be very different.
J-Fest, which the charity is promoting as ‘The Future of Music’, will be on Saturday February 1st from 2 to 4pm in the comfort of the Villa Marina’s Royal Hall. The show is aimed firmly at the youth market (young people 12 and over do not have to be accompanied by an adult) and features a fantastic line-up of live entertainment: musician and former X Factor contestant Lucy Spraggan, regular visitors to the island EverYoung, X Factor 2011 finalists The Risk, singer songwriter Simon J Bailey, local artist Mae Challis and the winner of The Next Big Thing 2014.
Junior Achievement’s chief executive Sue Cook said: ‘We’re always looking at combining fundraising with promoting young talent. It has been a dream of ours to put on a pop concert for young people so we are asking the Manx public to get behind this event and give us their full support. What’s more we have a successful track record in organising events, so for anyone harbouring doubts about the security of their money after they’ve bought a ticket for a music festival, they need have no worries. The acts are already booked; tickets have already been sold. If we have to cancel for a reason outside our control the Villa Marina has a policy to issue a full refund.’
Tickets ?15.30 or ?20.40 are available from the Villa Marina box office on 600555 or online at cfvg.gov.im.
A limited number of VIP tickets to include a premium seat, signed picture and a ‘meet and greet’ session with one act (EverYoung or The Risk) are ?35. To book these call Tina at Junior Achievement on 666266.
