By-election for place on Douglas Council

There’s a by-election in the capital today (Thursday).
Two former councillors are vying for a return to Douglas Council.
Elizabeth Quirk of Alexander Drive and Thomas Gelling of Barrule Road are running for the vacant seat after Alan Quirk resigned from the local authority.
The contest takes place in Athol Ward.
The polling station at Willaston Methodist Church Hall is open from 8am until 8pm and the count this evening is at Douglas Town Hall.
