OFT warns of charity support scam

The Office of Fair Trading says don’t be caught out by an old cold-call scam that seems to have resurfaced recently.
Businesses have been contacted by people claiming to be supporting local charities and the emergency services, selling adverts on calendars and other publications.
Andrea Tabb of the OFT says people can be caught out if they’re busy – and the scammers can be persistent.
But she says don’t believe everything you hear over the phone:
