Indecision at Onchan

Ratepayers in Onchan will have to wait at least until the end of this week to find out what their local authority thinks of plans to merge its housing into a regional board.

Last night, commissioners discussed the plan when they met in Willow House – but decided not to make their views public until they meet Social Care Minister Chris Robertshaw on Thursday.

They’ll debate the matter again next Monday – just one day before Tynwald debates Mr Robertshaw’s recommendations at its November sitting.

Chair of Onchan Commissioners Rob Callister admits the indecision during last night’s meeting merited some criticism:
