A detailed report on the trial of bendy buses in the Island has today been made public.
The study by an independent working group concluded costly changes to Manx roads would be needed before the articulated buses could be used.
Leisure minister Graham Cregeen ruled out the controversial proposals when the report was handed to the Council of Ministers last week.
The estimated ?3 million cost to widen corners and create longer bus stops and passing places on every route, meant the scheme cancelled out any savings for his department.
Mr Cregeen said the trial did not raise any safety issues.
However the report says if bendy buses are to be used in future to transport school children, further safey assessments will be needed.
