North One Television, who hold the exclusive license to produce and distribute Isle of Man TT Races footage on behalf of the Department of Economic Development has been shortlisted in two categories in the prestigious Royal Television Society Craft and Design Awards.
The company has been shortlisted in two sports categories, for multi camera work where they will be competing against the Wimbledon Mens Final and the Grand National and the tape and film-editing category, which also features the BBC Sports Personality of the Year show and the BBC's Formula 1 coverage of the British Grand Prix.
The Royal Television Society is Britain’s leading forum for television and related media. The RTS was granted its Royal title in 1966 and HRH The Prince of Wales became Patron of the Society in 1997. The RTS Awards are an internationally recognised hallmark for quality and originality.
Other programmes shortlisted include Dancing on Ice, which has picked up four nominations, Strictly Come Dancing, comedy series Red Dwarf while other sports events on the shortlist include The Wimbledon Mens Final and The Grand National.
The Awards, which are chaired by Zodiak chief executive Nigel Pickard, recognise the range of skills and processes involved in programme production. This year there are 25 categories. The winners will be announced on Monday 18 November at The Savoy, London.
Neil Duncanson, Chief Executive, North One TV, commented:
“Obviously we are delighted to get two nominations, especially when you look at the strength of the competition. It certainly demonstrates that today the Isle of Man TT is being taken very seriously in the media world and is a great reflection on the hard work of a large team, not just our own, but also the event organisers, marshals, teams and riders.”
