Today's sailings diverting to/from Birkenhead

by isleofman.com 14th November 2013

The Steam Packet Company have advised that today's 0845 and 1415 sailings to/from Heysham will now instead operate to/from Birkenhead.

The current forecast of wind strength and direction means that sailings to/from Heysham would likely have to be cancelled. In order to minimise disruption to our passengers, and to avoid the risk of cancellation, services will instead operate to/from Birkenhead.

Because they were required to give at least 12 hours’ notice to the Birkenhead Port facility, the decision to change to Birkenhead was taken yesterday afternoon.

This has also allowed Steam Packet staff to contact affected passengers and advise them of the alternative arrangements.

Sailing times will remain as originally scheduled. A transfer service will be provided for foot passengers from Birkenhead to Heysham and from Heysham to Birkenhead if required.

The Steam Packet Company apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.
