Carry on Cowboy kicking cancer

by isleofman.com 14th November 2013

Isle of Man Anti-Cancer Association would like to thank all those involved in the recent ‘Carry on Cowboy’ night at Port St Mary Town Hall. The event was a huge success, with everyone enjoying a great knees-up to raise funds for the Port St Mary Branch of the Association. The Branch is pleased to report that they raised ?1637 to support the fight against cancer.

Thank you to everyone who took part or sponsored the event – it would not be possible without your support!

Port St Mary Town Hall was buzzing with the sound of the Calor Gas Ceilidh Band and Port St Mary Cabaret Party; and howling with laughter at the Young Farmers sketch.

Those who came along got into the spirit of the night with some excellent Wild West costumes.

The event was a fantastic example of how you can have fun raising money for a worthwhile cause. It was a wonderful amount of money raised towards IOM Anti-Cancer Association’s work against cancer.

IOM Anti-Cancer Association is involved in various projects on the Island, such as the Staywell Clinic (Cervical Screening), Psycho-Oncology Service (psychology & counselling specifically for people affected by cancer), and cancer awareness on Manx Radio.

We also raise money to fund research into cancer, its causes and its treatment; and fund equipment at Hospitals in the UK who provide treatment to Manx patients.

You can find out more about the Association, by contacting 252725, email IOMAnticancer@gmail.com or visiting www.iomaca.org.im.
