Week Six and the first real 6 pointer at the Plough where the so far all conquerors Plough A were up against second in the table Commie Raven and it was more proof that the stats mean nothing as this was a tale of missed doubles by all accounts.
The Plough boys lost their first pairs game of the year but the result was secured by as early as the 6th game, there was also a first for the Commie boys as Jay Radcliffe lost his unbeaten record in the pairs. Geoff Howland yet again for the Pluff topped with 8x100 scores and a 21 darter backed up by the ever green Gary Uren and Andy Hudgeon. The only only victory for the Commie was from Charlie Cormode and Alan Kinrade as the Plough win 6-3 but the Commie boys reckon if they had hit their doubles it could have been a 7-2 win for them, just goes to show you scores for show.
Commie v Plough B
I tipped this for a 5-4 scoreline and wasn't far off as the Plough boys won 6-3, in fact they were losing 2-1 at one point. Brian Thompson the only singles victory for the Commie which when you consider the singles has been their strong point this year it shows the quality the Plough B have in their squad, their star man yet again Jamie Kelly with a hawl of 7 ton plus scores he was backed up by Mac MacDonald 5 tons and Dave Faragher 6 tons.
RAOB 1 - 8 Stanley
All the more impressive when you know they had Barry Sharpe missing injured as was Chris Higgins (hols) the only real notable was Dave Madden with 5 tons not bad for a man struggling with a shoulder injury.
Bar Logo 1 - 8 Swan
The Swan don't like losing and got back to winning ways in style at the Logo losing only their last game of the night, the score doesn't as usual reflect the match as there were at least 4 games that could have gone either way, Paul Palmer with a great finish of tops tops to take a 100 finish and the Paul Wheeler tenner this week also backed up by all but Paul Arthur with a 21 darter John Taylor with 3 tons.
