Union boss urges caution over Scope review

The leader of a large UK union with around 1800 members in public sector jobs in the Island says reducing the size of government may not prove a 'quick-fix' in cutting costs.
Newly-appointed General Secretary of Prospect Mike Clancy addressed Prospect members here at their AGM last week.
He's been promoting the union's response the Scope review - the search for budget savings across all departments in a slimmed-down government.
The message in the union's new brochure on the topic is 'Look Before You Leap'.
Mr Clancy says the long-term impact of contracting-out or privatising services must be carefully considered:
