Local workforce to play important role in redevelopment

by isleofman.com 18th November 2013
The owner of the Mount Murray Hotel says he wants to use local workers for as much of its redevelopment as possible.

It follows the fire which destroyed the complex’s accommodation block 11 days ago.

Albert Gubay has confirmed the hotel’s leisure and conference facilities will re-open on Wednesday but the main rebuild will take up to 18 months.

Half of the hotel’s staff will be made redundant as a result.

Mr Gubay is encouraged by the support of the Manx government since the blaze which gutted 90 bedrooms.Clip 1
