Manx Cancer Help has appointed Helen Summerscales as a Director of the charity.
Helen, who is Managing Director of the leading communications agency Isle of Man Advertising and PR, brings valuable commercial experience and in-depth understanding of marketing, design and public relations. Manx Cancer Help CEO Andrea Chambers said Helen’s appointment to the board will assist the charity identify ways to further promote its work and expand its services.
Andrea added: “Helen has been a fantastic support to Manx Cancer Help and I am looking forward to working with her as a Director of the charity.
“She brings a wealth of skills and experience, which I am confident will benefit Manx Cancer Help and ultimately enable us to expand the services offered to our patients.”
In her new role, Helen will work with the other members of the board, advising on the strategic direction of the charity.
She said: “I’m really excited to be joining Manx Cancer Help in its 30th Anniversary year. As well as offering strategic input, I’m hoping to provide some commercial insight as the charity looks to enhance and expand its current remit. Of course I’m also very keen to help Andrea and her team to raise awareness of the vital services the charity provides among those living with cancer, and their families and friends.

Manx Cancer Help works tirelessly in the community to provide emotional and psychological support to cancer patients and those affected by the diagnosis, free of charge. It is a privilege to be able to play my part in ensuring as many people as possible benefit from these important services.”
Established in 1983, Manx Cancer Help provides essential emotional support and expert counselling for cancer patients, their families, carers and friends. It offers a series of free, confidential sessions, face-to-face and over the phone, to anyone affected by a cancer diagnosis.
