St Nick’s beer heralds Christmas cheer!

by isleofman.com 18th November 2013

The Christmas spirit has started, lights, trees and decorations are appearing at every glance and the excitement and anticipation of the festive season is well and truly in the air…

Since 1850 Okell’s and Christmas have gone hand in hand and for a number of years, the launch of the Okell’s seasonal cask ale St Nick, and the switching on of the Douglas lights, have marked the start of the festivities where each year Okell’s gives free St Nicks away for the evening to celebrate the event.

The festivities start at The British Hotel in Douglas on the night of Thursday 21st of November and will be played out by Douglas Town Band.

H&B’s estates director Steven Taylor said: ‘The crowds St Nick draws on its first evening when Christmas comes to Douglas always makes for a great atmosphere. It really sets the tone for a fantastic evening when we join with our customers and raise a free glass or two to welcome in the festive season.’

The infamous Okell’s elves on their illuminated dray will deliver the first pint of 2013 at 7:30pm and celebrations continue until the beer runs out.
