Tynwald sits today – and there’s some bad news for those in the drugs business.

Members will debate increasing prison sentences for those dealing or producing class C drugs from five years to 14 years in prison.

Also on the agenda are tax information exchange agreements with Botswana, Switzerland, Italy and Lesotho, as well as tax agreements with the UK.

And there’s a bid from South Douglas MHK Kate Beecroft to ensure the Nunnery site earmarked for the Manx Educational Foundation is put on the open market before any special arrangements for it are made.

There are 29 questions for oral answer and a further 21 for written reply, covering some familiar topics.

Michael MHK Alf Cannan will quiz Community, Culture and Leisure Minister Graham Cregeen about the bendy buses trial, while South Douglas MHK Kate Beecroft will ask him about ?2.7 million set aside for replacement vehicles.

Social Care Minister Chris Robertshaw will face a series of questions about his department’s plan to hand over the running of care homes to non-profit organisations.

North Douglas MHK Bill Henderson will ask about the future of staff at the units, the buildings themselves and the standards of care after the plans are implemented.
