An Island businessman with a unique link with the Philippines has pledged to donate profits from a fund-raiser at his Douglas restaurants to the typhoon relief appeal.

Almost 4000 people died when the overloaded inter-island ferry, which had picked up passengers in Tacloban, sank after hitting a fuel tanker en route to Manila.
Nigel believes many victims of the typhoon which devastated Tacloban this month will be descendants of those who died on the Dona Paz - meaning disaster has struck the same community twice.
For a fortnight from next Monday, Filipino-style lunches will be served at his outlets Bath & Bottle and 14 North, with all profits going to aid charities.
