You can start getting in the mood for Christmas next week at a fundraising event for the Island’s leading charity for families and children. The Children’s Centre’s ‘Not Quite Christmas Fayre’ is being held at Braddan Church Hall on November 24 from 2pm to 5pm. Admission is free for the event which will feature workshops in which children can make their own Christmas decorations.
The Children’s Centre’s fundraising coordinator, Susie Cox, commented:
“We know it’s still November, but our ‘Not Quite Christmas Fayre’ will help everyone get into the festive mood. There will be children’s workshops to help them and their parents to get creative by making Christmas decorations from everyday household materials. We all know how expensive Christmas can be, so the fayre will be a great place to pick up some tips to help keep the children occupied over the holidays without breaking the bank. Children will be able to take home anything they make, so if you’re stuck for something to do – and wondering what state the decorations will be in when you get them down from the attic – why not come along and have some fun while raising funds for a good cause.”
There will also be craft stalls, hot food, and refreshments. Visitors will be asked to make a donation to take part in the Christmas decoration workshops with all funds raised going to The Children’s Centre’s charitable projects such as Mobex, Out2Play, Child Contact Centre, Community Development and the Community Farm which all help families and children across the Island. There’s ample parking and refreshments will be available. For more information email fundraising@thechildrenscentre.org.im or call Susie Cox on 676076.
