Police probe shop raid

A young shop assistant was forced to hand over money at a local convenience store last night (Wednesday).

Police are trying to trace a man who demanded cash from the till at Lower Newby’s in Glen Falcon Road in Douglas at around 9.40pm.

Police say the woman was left upset and shaken by the ordeal and want to hear from anyone who was in the area during the evening and saw the suspect entering the shop or loitering outside.

He’s described as of average height and build, with possibly an eastern European accent and was wearing a dark hooded top and jogging bottoms.
