Misadventure verdict over legal high death

by isleofman.com 23rd November 2013
A verdict of misadventure has been recorded at the inquest of a Ballasalla man who died after taking a 'legal high' drug.

The body of 45-year-old William James Ritchie was found at his home on Quine's Close on February the second.

Coroner John Needham said the drug was ‘either the cause of death’ or 'a significant contributing factor’ in combination with an underlying liver condition which Mr Ritchie suffered from.

He’s referring his findings to the Island’s Advisory Committee on the Misuse of Drugs to consider whether AMT should be included on the list of controlled drugs in the Island.
