A jury of seven is expected to be sworn-in on Wednesday morning (27 Nov) in the trial of the Isle of Man's Attorney General.
Stephen Harding who has been in the post since November 2010, faces one charge of committing perjury in August 2010 and another of creating and submitting false documentation between April and September 2010.
He is accused of creating and submitting false documentation to the Advocates Disciplinary Tribunal.
He is also accused of making a false statement to local advocate Jerry Carter who was acting for Street Heritage Limited.
The 52-year from Glen Vine denies both charges.
Legal argument has begun at Douglas Courthouse today (Nov 25) under the guidance of Deemster Peter Birkett QC.
The trial is expected to last for up to three weeks.
Mr Harding was last year suspended from his government post while investigations were carried out. The role of Attorney General is currently being undertaken by local advocate John Quinn.
