A jury of seven is expected to be sworn-in this morning (Wednesday) in the trial of the Isle of Man's Attorney General.
Stephen Harding who has been in the post since November 2010, faces one charge of committing perjury in August 2010 and another of perverting the course of justice by creating and submitting false documentation between April and September that year.
The 52-year from Glen Vine denies both charges.
Once the jury is balloted and sworn-in, prosecuting counsel Peter Wright QC could open the case for the Crown later today.
Mr Harding is accused of creating and submitting false documentation to the Advocates Disciplinary Tribunal.
He is also accused of making a false statement to local advocate Jerry Carter who was acting for Street Heritage Limited.
The trial, before Deemster Peter Birkett, is expected to last up to three weeks.
