by isleofman.com 27th November 2013

A jury has been sworn-in at the start of the trial of the Island's Attorney General Stephen Harding.
Mr Harding, the government's senior legal advisor, stands accused of committing perjury and submitting false documentation.
He denies both charges, alleged to have been committed during 2010.
Prosecuting counsel Peter Wright QC is due to open to the case for the Crown shortly, before a jury of five men and two women.
This morning the judge presiding over the trial Deemster Peter Birkett reminded jurors to consider only the evidence they hear in court and warned them not to engage in any internet searches.
The trial is expected to last up to three weeks.
