The Northern Hospice Committee have been selling lots of their fabulous Just A Taste cookbooks recently with the sales at St Paul’s Bookshop topping the list of sellers with a massive 120 cook books sold to date. The lovely northern book shop have been donating all the proceeds back to Hospice.

The gem of a fundraising idea began in the depths of winter in early January 2013. It was with a lot of hard work that the small committee started to write to well known local people requesting they contribute their favourite recipes and a reason as to why they liked to eat them or indeed cook them.
The recipes soon started to flow in with every category of starters, mains course, sweets and ‘other’ sweet things being covered. The end product contains over 75 recipes from lots of well known individuals with some lovely stories.
Equiom in Douglas covered all the costs of the original print. The book has had a re-print of another 500 books to keep up with the demand!
It is also worth mentioning that the cookbook contains a recipe from an inspirational young lady called Jade Quirk who loved to bake cupcakes. Joan Cranshaw of the Northern Committee was also the artist for the book. Joan was so touched by Jade’s story that she drew the cup cakes for the front and back cover.
The books cost ?6.99 each and are available from St Paul’s Bookshop, Ramsey.
