CVI Technical Optics closing

by isleofman.com 6th December 2013

A company which produced special optical instruments for a NASA Mars rover will close next year.
CVI Technical Optics in Second Avenue in Onchan is to shut with the loss of 35 posts by the end of March 2014.
It’s part of the CVI Laser Group, which announced it would close the factory because of a duplication of manufacturing facilities around the world.
It’s thought a third of the firm’s workforce on the Island have already found other jobs.
