Lucky escape for Peel man

by isleofman.com 21st December 2013

A Peel man says he feels lucky to be alive, after part of a tree came down on his car as he drove home from work yesterday evening.
Ian Watson, a highways worker for the Department of Infrastructure, was on the Poortown Road at around 4.40pm when it hit his vehicle, smashing the windscreen and showering him with glass.
He's told Manx Radio the impact was like 'a big explosion'.
The tree limb then bounced over the top of his car and came to rest on the road, stopping the vehicles travelling on the stretch at the time.
Mr Watson is thanking one of the drivers who helped him:Clip 1
