Rushen and St George's do battle in Railway Cup Final

by isleofman.com 26th December 2013

Rushen play St. George's in the traditional Boxing Day BCS Railway Cup Final at The Bowl this afternoon.
St George's have been the dominant force in Manx Football for the past decade and are going for a fourth consecutive Railway Cup success.
However, Rushen are one of the few sides to have defeated Geordies in recent times and the club has a proud history.
Southern giants Rushen go into the match as underdogs - but that could work to their advantage if they take the attitude they have nothing to lose.
They won 4-3 away at Laxey in the semi-finals after extra-time thanks to goals from skipper Aaron Hawley, Josh Kelly, Jack Saxon and Mike Williams.
St George's beat St. Mary's 2-1 in the semis despite going one down very early.
Second half goals from Chris Bass and Sam Caine turned the game around.
The final kick-off at 3 o'clock and you can hear full commentary on Manx Radio's AM1368 frequency.
