Bonus start to 2014 for Vagas

by isleofman.com 4th January 2014

Vagabonds beat Southport 45-5 at Ballafletcher in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division Two and bagged a bonus point in the process.

Ross Pulman was the star for Vagas, running in four tries on his own.

The win takes Vagas into fifth place.

Vagas led 26-5 at half-time with Pulman bagging two, plus tries from Leigh Kennaugh and Mark McGreal and three conversions from Aidan O’Shea.

Pulman added two more in the second half with McGreal crossing for his second and two more conversions from O’Shea.

Ramsey lost 50-21 to league leaders Manchester Medics and while they picked up no points, they did become one of the select band of sides who’ve scored more than 20 points against the Medics.

Mikey Craine scored Ramsey’s only try in the first half with Dan Bonwick converting but it wasn’t enough to trouble the Medics who led 31-7 at the break.

Two early scores in the second half stretched the Medics lead to 50-7 but tries in the final quarter from Josh Carine and Bonwick, who also converted both, gave Ramsey a psychological boost if nothing else.
