by isleofman.com 25th January 2014
Ramsey were beaten 24-7 by Oswestry in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division Two this afternoon (Saturday).

And with close rivals Dukinfield picking up a win, the Manx side are now seven points away from safety.

Tries from Dan Williams, Will Roberts and Gareth Hughes, and two conversions from Williams, put Oswestry 19-0 ahead at the break.

In the second half, Dan Bonwick pulled one back from Ramsey, but almost immediately Oswestry wing Jack Fox responded to kill off any chance of a Ramsey comeback.

Vagabonds beat bottom side Wallasey 69-0 at Ballafletcher to creep back into fifth place.

First half tries from Mark Howarth, Lucas Veradi, Tom Gascoyne, Kevin Birchall and Aiden O’Shea, plus two conversions from Mark McGreal, gave Vagas a 29-0 half-time lead.

In the second half, as the game opened up for Vagas, Gascoyne and O’Shea both ran in their second tries.
Ross Pulman bagged four, Rob Martin two and James Clark and Liam Kinley one apiece.

In the Shimmin Wilson Manx Bowl, Western Vikings got their campaign off to a good start with a 24-10 win against Ramsey B.
