Advantage Bacchas after first half blitz

by isleofman.com 25th January 2014
It’s first blood Bacchas A in the race for the PWC Men’s Premier Division.

That’s after the reigning champions saw off arch rivals Valkyrs A 3-1, courtesy of strikes from Andy Whiting, Johnny Callow and Tom Wilson.

In a game of two halves, Bacchas A all but wrapped the match up by the break.

And although Gareth Morris reduced the deficit in the second half, they couldn’t breach the Bacchas’ rearguard again.

A Conor Byrne hat-trick, a double from Dave Milward and a Conor Byrne goal fired Vikings A to a 6-3 win over battling Ramsey A.

They responded through Juan Kermeen (two) and Nat Smith.

Dave Kneale was the star of the show as Bacchas B put five past Castletown A.

He hit four and was joined on the scoresheet by Sam Riordan in a 5-2 success.

Jamie Allen and Steve Ronan replied for Town.

It’s three wins out of three for champions Vikings A in the PWC Women’s Premier Division.

Their dominance of Manx women’s hockey continued as doubles from Kirstie Cooper and Katie Errock saw off Ramsey A 4-1.

The northerners’ response came from Ellan Robinson.

Erin Murphy scored both as Bacchas A saw off Castletown A 2-0, while Valkyrs A ran out 6-1 winners over Bacchas B, whose consolation was scored by Jo Quine.
