Hospice Isle of Man has received ?2,700 from the Santander Foundation to fund a silk scarf painting project.
The grant was provided by the Foundation’s Community Plus initiative which offers grants of up to ?5,000 for projects that help disadvantaged people in local communities.
The scarf painting project was designed to relax, stimulate and make a real difference to the hospice’s day unit and in patients, and was also enjoyed by the staff and volunteers. The donation covered the cost of all the necessary equipment and materials to run the project.
Debbie Beck, project coordinator at Hospice said: “It has been a great initiative; we’ve really enjoyed working with all the patients, seeing how much they relax whilst painting a beautiful silk scarf. I would like to thank the Santander Foundation for all their support and funding in a project that has made a huge difference to our patients.”
Lynette Byrne at Santander’s Isle of Man branch said: “Community Plus allows our staff and customers to nominate local charities that are most in need of assistance. We are delighted to be supporting Hospice Isle of Man and are glad the donation has made a real difference to local people.”
The Community Plus fund provides grants of up to ?5,000 to small, local charities with funding available to cover salaries, equipment or materials. For more information please visit:
