The Department of Infrastructure says most of Douglas promenade’s walkway and cycle path will be closed today – with more flooding possible.

The prom will be closed between Summer Hill and Broadway from 9.30am until 4.30pm as workers tackle a huge cleanup operation following high tide on Monday.

The wall of garden six of the Sunken Gardens was forced down by powerful waves during Monday's storm.

Workers are currently removing stone and breaking it down by hand.

Meanwhile, the government is warning southeasterly gale or severe gale force winds could mean more coastal flooding during this afternoon’s high tide.

That’s due at 3.15pm, and could bring problems to Douglas, Laxey, Ramsey, Castletown, Port St Mary and Carrick Bay.Clip 1
