Rapist teacher's victims praised for coming forward

by isleofman.com 5th February 2014
The teenage victims of a rape and a series of ten sexual assaults are being praised for their bravery.

It's after a 15-year jail term was yesterday imposed on maths teacher Davoud Taghinejad, who moved to the Island in 2009.

The 58-year-old committed the offences on five teenage girls, whom he taught privately at his home in Douglas, between 2011 and 2013.

Detective Constable Emily Perkins says the young girls not only showed bravery contacting police, but then had to endure the trauma of a court trial.Clip 1
