Formal protection for Island war memorials a step closer

The Isle of Man is a step closer to having formal legislation to protect war memorials.
Rushen MHK Juan Watterson has been given permission to bring forward a bill to make sure these monuments are well looked after.
Mr Watterson is also Chairman of the Preservation of War Memorials Committee.
There are more than 150 memorials around the Island and he says new laws would ensure they are protected for the future.
