Roads gritted in face of freeze

Gritters have been out and about on the Island’s roads today, treating surfaces as a precaution.

The Department of Infrastructure says its workers have been treating the Mountain Road, Beinn-y-Phott and the Sulby Glen Road.

Motorists are being asked to drive cautiously in those areas, particularly on the Mountain Road where police dealt with one car crash after this afternoon's snow.

The Met Office at Ronaldsway says temperatures could fall to freezing tonight over higher ground, with the possibility of frost and ice.
