Douglas hammer Nomads in Trophy

Douglas sent out a clear message to their rivals in the Shimmin Wilson Manx Trophy with a 51-7 win against Southern Nomads.

Si Ward, Ben Dutnall, Dave Sherwin, Jack Fallon, Nick Hughes, Liam King, and Dom Winrow all picked up tries for Douglas.

Skipper Mark Shortland kicked a penalty and four conversions and there was also a single penalty from Luke Hyland.

Nomads were rusty in their first game for a month.
Castletown’s winless streak ended with a 19-10 win over local rivals Emerging Nomads in the Shimmin Wilson Manx Bowl.

Town led 10-5 at half-time thanks to tries from John Forrest and James Jones.

Forrest added a penalty in the second half and Gary Stephenson kicked two more as Town put in a good opening performance as the defending Bowl holders.
