Chief Minister praises storm response

by isleofman.com 16th February 2014
The Chief Minister says great teamwork has seen the Island though the recent storms and floods.
Allan Bell has praised the dedication and team spirit of workers from the Department of Infrastructure, emergency services and MEA.
Twelve DoI teams worked through Wednesday night's storm (Febriary 12) when nearly 40 trees were brought down as winds reached speeds of 80 miles per hour.
Severe winter weather has lashed the Island since the start of January and a range of agencies have put up flood defences, helped householders deal with damage, clear roads and restore power.
There is no contingency fund for weather emergencies and the ?300,000 spent so far has come from DoI's existing budget.
Mr Bell says he'll review the situation when the wild weather subsides:Clip 1
