Second man jailed for concert stabbing

by isleofman.com 25th February 2014

A second person has been jailed for attacking a Douglas man at a Swedish House Mafia gig in Dublin.
Andrew England was at the concert at Phoenix Park in July 2012 when he was set upon after trying to break up a fight.
One man, Karl Higgins, smashed a glass bottle over Mr England's head, then used the broken bottle to stab him in the arm.
Higgins last year admitted a charge of violent disorder and was given a five-year jail sentence, the last two of which are suspended.
The second man who attacked Andrew England, Raymond Donnan, stabbed him in the back multiple times with a knife which had a four or five-inch blade.
The judge said Mr England was lucky not to have suffered worse injuries.
Donnan pleaded guilty to charges of violent disorder and assault causing harm.
He has been sentenced to four years in prison.
