Microgaming Health & Care Trust make donations to Crossroads Care

by isleofman.com 26th February 2014

The Microgaming Health & Care Trust (www.microgamingtrust.co.im) is supporting Crossroads Care with two donations for their day centre located at Masham Court in Douglas.

Crossroads Care day centre is used by over 100 people daily. It provides a safe haven for adults with learning difficulties or frailties, which in turn offers respite for their family and carers. The services at the day centre include day support, a social club, community ventures and building bridges; all designed to provide cared for persons with essential life-skills.

The first donation from the Microgaming Health & Care Trust has enabled the purchase of a new electric sensor door at Masham Court, to replace the entrance which had an irreparable fault. The Trust has also donated the funds for a new couch to accommodate the day centre’s service users.

Jayne Sloane, Adults Services Officer at Crossroads Care, comments: “The service that Crossroads Care provides to the Island is indispensable, but we wouldn’t be able to deliver this if we didn’t receive support from the likes of the Microgaming Health & Care Trust.  On behalf of everyone at Crossroads Care, I’d like to thank the Trust not only for one, but two, generous donations.”

Dr. Guy Sissons, Trustee to the Microgaming Health Care & Trust, adds: “Crossroads Care is a superb and unique local charity that provides the very best support to carers living in the Isle of Man. Supporting Crossroads Care encapsulates exactly what the Trust was established to do; to provide assistance to local projects and Manx charities that benefit the wider community. We know that both of these donations will make a huge difference to all involved in the charity; it’s wonderful that we are able to help.”
