Athol Garage help Team Isle of Man on road to Games

by isleofman.com 26th February 2014

A Ballasalla Nissan car dealership is supporting the Isle of Man’s Commonwealth Games team in their preparations for Glasgow 2014. Athol Garage has loaned a Nissan NV400 van to help the squad transport equipment to Scotland for when the Games begin on July 23. The Island’s Commonwealth Games team is organised by the Isle of Man Commonwealth Games Association (IOMCGA) which is a registered charity responsible for the publicity, fundraising, travel, and support for our national squad. Trevor Taubman, General Team Manager for Team Isle of Man, said:

“The van will be used by our shooting team as they need to take a lot of heavy and bulky equipment to compete at the Games. As a registered charity IOMCGA relies heavily on generous donations such as this from Athol Garage. We’re extremely grateful for their support which will be a great help in our finalising our logistical plans for getting the squad and equipment to Glasgow.”

David Quayle, Sales Director at Athol Garage, said:

“We have supported the Isle of Man’s Island Games team in the past, but this is the first time we have been involved with the Commonwealth Games team. Everyone at Athol Garage is looking forward to seeing Team Isle of Man compete at Glasgow 2014 we’re delighted and proud to be playing a part in supporting our national team’s preparations for the Games.”
