The Clerk of Tynwald’s Office has created a new career opportunity, offering a one-year intern post in the Tynwald Chamber and Information Service.
The position will see the successful applicant working with the parliamentary administration and Hansard teams as well as with the clerks. In so doing, he or she will gain first-hand experience of how a modern parliament operates, specifically how the Office of the Clerk of Tynwald supports the business of Tynwald and the Branches, parliamentary committees, the Isle of Man branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association and individual Members.
Clerk of Tynwald Roger Phillips said: ‘We would envisage the position to be of particular appeal to a young adult eager to be a part of an organisation which, although distinguished by 1000 years of tradition, is innovative, outward-looking and embracing of advances in communications technology.
The intern post is one of a number of developments implemented by the Office to strengthen the links between Tynwald and the community, in its broadest sense, that it serves.’
