An elderly man who was taken to hospital following a fire at his home in Port Erin a fortnight ago has died.

Police have confirmed the inquest of 91 year-old Edmund Morrison will open at Douglas Courthouse on Monday morning.

He and his wife, who is also 91, were rescued from the house on Station Road on February 14.

Police say their thoughts are with the family at this sad time.
They’re working with fire and rescue investigators and police forensic officers to establish the cause and anyone with information is asked to call Port Erin police on 832222.
The inquest on Monday will open at 9.15am at Douglas Courthouse.
