Vagabonds slump to heavy defeat at Orrell

by isleofman.com 1st March 2014
In South Lancashire/Cheshire Division Two, Vagabonds crashed to a big defeat away at Orrell with the Wiganers running out 55-8 winners.

The result keeps Vagabonds in sixth place but their hopes of a top five finish look to have diminished.

Two tries in the last three minutes cost Ramsey a valuable away win as they lost 40-33 at Moore.

They did, however, pick up two valuable bonus points.

First half tries from Ali Trace, Orry Watterson and Matty Kelly, plus two penalties and a conversion from Fintan Cummins, had Ramsey with their noses in front 23-18 at half-time.

A second half try from Pete Richardson and a penalty and conversion from Cummins saw them enter the last 10 minutes with a 33-30 lead, only to lose out in the closing stages.
