Man dies following house fire

Following the house fire which occurred on Friday 14th February 2014, in which an elderly couple, both aged 91, were taken to Noble’s Hospital for treatment;  Police have confirmed that at 9.15am on Monday the 3rd day of March 2014 the Coroner of Inquests, Mr J. Needham, will open the Inquest into the death of Mr Edmund Morrison, 91 years of Port Erin.

Sergeant Gary Heaton of Port Erin Police Station said; “This is a very sad time for the family of the elderly couple and our thoughts are with them. Our  enquiries are continuing into the matter which I stress is not being treated as suspicious. We will be working together with Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Investigators as well as our own Forensic Officers to establish the cause of the fire”. If anyone has any information which may assist our enquiries then please contact Port Erin Police Station on 832222”.
