Appeal following 2 hit-and-run incidents

by isleofman.com 3rd March 2014
Ramsey Police are appealing to the public for information into a possible double hit and run RTC. The first incident is believed to have happened at approximately 3.25am on 2nd March the A2 Douglas to Laxey Road. A parked vehicle was hit causing damage to its driver’s side wing mirror. Immediately after the incident the owner of the vehicle found debris in the road that Police believe came from the offending vehicle.

Moments later another parked vehicle approximately 500 metres up the road was also hit. This vehicle however has suffered extensive offside damage to the rear of the car and is quite possibly a write off. A witness has said that a vehicle was seen with its hazard warning lights illuminated in the wrong carriageway near to the Church Road junction of Baldrine.

It would appear to be too much of a coincidence at the time and locations involved not to be the same offending vehicle in both hit and run RTC’s.

The debris collected in the road belongs to a vehicle that is silver in colour. This vehicle would have near side front damage to it. Have you seen a silver vehicle parked anywhere with recent collision damage around the front nearside of it?

Police Officers are appealing for witnesses to the incident or to anyone who may have any information to contact any Police Officer.

If anyone has any information please contact PC Mark Hempsall or PC Adam Hawkes at Ramsey Police Station on 812234 or anonymously Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.
