New government site promises accountability(2)

A new government website will let people see exactly how much the government’s spending as well as what it’s paying for.
Treasury Minister Eddie Teare announced the setting up of the site in his budget speech last month, saying it would bring more transparency for taxpayers.
He says he hopes people will be able to appreciate how government budgets work and how public money is spent.
And Mr Teare says the data should be simple enough for anybody to understand:
