Could your team be Question of Sport charity champions?

by isleofman.com 4th March 2014

Sports fans have a chance to put their knowledge to the test in a quiz being organised to raise funds for The Children’s Centre. A Question of Sport event, based on the popular BBC TV show, is being held on April 3 at the Empress Hotel in Douglas with Manx Radio Sports Editor Tim Glover in the quizmaster’s chair. What Happened Next? Mystery Guest, Captain's Challenge, and On The Buzzer rounds will all feature in the fun evening. There’s also a sports-themed fancy dress competition with a prize for the team wearing the snazziest outfits. The evening will end with a ‘heads and tails’ competition and a raffle.

Susie Cox, Community Fundraiser at The Children’s Centre, said:
“After the success of last year’s event we decided to bring back our Question of Sport themed quiz. It’s a great evening of entertainment and all in a good cause as all proceeds go to The Children’s Centre’s charitable projects. Thanks to the Empress Hotel we are able to provide tables for teams of 10 for just ?400 which includes a three course meal and drinks on arrival. There are only 15 tables available, so anyone interested should get in touch as soon as possible.”

The Children’s Centre’s charitable projects include Mobex, Out2Play, Child Contact Centre, Community Development and the Community Farm, which all help families and children in communities across the Island. To book a Question of Sport table, or for more details, email Susie Cox at susiecox@thechildrenscentre.org.im or call 676076. You can also go to http://www.thechildrenscentre.org.im/events/a-question-of-sport/ for more details and to download a booking form. Deadline for entries is March 14.
