Weak areas in Island's services for protecting vulnerable children

The Isle of Man’s services for protecting vulnerable children and young people have been rated as weak in a number of areas – an inspection has revealed.
The report will be put before Tynwald this month, and comes following an independent review by the Care Inspectorate of Scotland between August and October 2013.
The three key areas for the Island to concentrate improvements are effective and early intervention, immediate response to children at risk of abuse or neglect, and the need for stronger collaborative leadership across all departments.
