Successful start for IOM Darts Academy

by isleofman.com 6th March 2014
The first night of the Isle of Man Darts Academy got underway last night, Wednesday 5th March, at the RAOB club in Ramsey shortly after 6pm.

There was a good turn out for the first night with 16 children ranging from 8 years through to 15 years. Including a couple of girls, and in fact, it was the girls who showed the way with Jazmine Arthur gaining the honours of highest score on the night, a fine effort scoring 132.  Her brother Max Arthur held the title for much of the night with a score of 125.

As it was the first night a few fun games were played; loop, killer etc resulting in bull shots and trebles a plenty.

In the senior section ( 13-17 years of age ) there was glimpses of good darts and what can be expected from Callum Brew and Cameron Dunnigan with Callum Brough and Reon Gell not far behind.

Well done to young Leo Dunnigan who at 10 was our youngest and the only player that had a go at marking the board.

Next week wil concentrate on match play so as to prepare the players for the league that will start shortly.
