Fire crews called to house fire in Anagh Coar

by isleofman.com 6th March 2014
Firecrews were called to a kitchen fire in Anagh Coar last night (Wed)
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the house on Anagh Coar road after the alarm was raised just after 5pm and discovered the cause of the fire was an unattended deep fat fryer.
The householder had alerted emergency services when smoke alarms had gone off.
Two people were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene and crews remained at there for an hour to ensure the building had been properly ventilated.
Home owners are again being reminded of the importance of ensuring smoke alarms are fitted and working and keeping doors in buildings closed at night to stop any possible spread of fumes in the event of fire.
