Switchback petition launched following fatal accident

by isleofman.com 11th March 2014
A worried teenager has launched a campaign asking the Department of Infrastructure to improve safety along the Switchback.

Sixteen-year-old Lewis Barritt of Port St Mary says he feels the road where 14-year-old Lucia Porter lost her life on Saturday is dangerous, with blind bends and a derestricted speed limit.

Now, he’s set up an online petition at change.org calling for a speed limit, cats eyes, reflective bollards, and speed humps along the route.

Lewis explained why he’s so concerned about the Switchback:Clip 1
