Steam Packet Company to promote the Island during National Ferry Fortnight

by isleofman.com 12th March 2014

The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company is supporting National Ferry Fortnight 2014, which gets underway on Saturday, March 15th.

The Steam Packet Company is promoting its summer ‘Kids Go Free’ offer during the fortnight. The UK national media is once again giving widespread coverage with a series of features on ferry travel and the companies which operate routes from and around the British Isles, transporting 38 million passengers each year.

Steam Packet Company Chief Executive Mark Woodward said: ‘National Ferry Fortnight continues to grow year-on-year and it's becoming more high profile, supported by all the ferry line members of the PSA. The Times, Mail on Sunday, The Telegraph and Evening Standard are some of the media carrying major features on ferry travel to coincide with this year’s event and it’s a fantastic opportunity for us, not just to increase awareness about our services, but to promote the Isle of Man as a destination.

‘Having established a strong social media presence since last summer, we will be using Facebook and Twitter during the fortnight to support the publicity and reinforce the pivotal role that ferries play in the transport infrastructure around the British Isles.’

The Company’s ‘Kids Go Free’ summer special offers a midweek (Tuesday to Thursday) fare from ?118 each way for a car plus two people, with up to three children travelling for free.
